Legal Information
Last updated: 26 October 2026
1. Identity of the Website Operator and Its Role
This website is operated by novelito, which acts as its publisher, seller and educational provider. novelito is the online trading identity of mediariffx Limited, a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales. In this notice, the words "we", "us" and "our" refer to the operator of this website, and "you" refers to any person who visits the site, submits an enquiry through the Contacts page, or books a training course.
We are not a marketplace, agency or booking intermediary. Every course described on this site is designed, sold and delivered by us, and the contract for any purchase is formed directly between you and the company identified in this notice. We are therefore responsible for the accuracy of the course descriptions we publish, for the standard of the training we deliver, and for the handling of your booking, payment, cancellation, refund and any complaint that follows.
Our role covers four practical functions: publishing information about our training portfolio; enrolling learners onto scheduled or bespoke courses; delivering that training through qualified instructors in studio and control-room environments; and administering the commercial relationship, including invoicing, records and customer support. Where a course is delivered at a third-party studio or venue, the identity of the training provider remains unchanged and your contract remains with us.
2. Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers, Licences and Responsible Representatives
In accordance with the Companies Act 2006 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, we provide the following statutory information about our business. We are a private limited company, which means that the company is a separate legal person, that the liability of its shareholders is limited, and that the company (rather than its directors personally) is the party that contracts with you.
- Legal form: private limited company incorporated in England and Wales.
- Company registration number: 02867466.
- Register of companies: Companies House, Cardiff.
- VAT registration number: GB 645 085 923.
- Tax authority: HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
- Licences: no sector-specific licence is required in the United Kingdom to provide commercial training of the kind offered on this site. We hold no broadcasting licence and do not provide broadcast services to the public; all radio-frequency, transmission or performance rights used in course exercises are obtained from the relevant venue or rights holder for the duration of the training.
The responsible representatives for this website and for the company's commercial conduct are its directors. The names, service addresses and appointment dates of the directors are filed with Companies House and are available for public inspection at any time. Directors are responsible for the lawful operation of the business, for the accuracy of the information published here, and for ensuring that the content of this website complies with applicable United Kingdom law.
All prices shown on this website are quoted in pounds sterling and, where indicated, are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate. Where a course is purchased by a VAT-registered business and the reverse-charge or exempt-supply rules apply, the invoice will state the applicable treatment. Our VAT number should be quoted on any purchase order or correspondence concerning tax.
2.1 Trading disclosures you will see on our materials
Company details appear on this website, on enrolment forms, on invoices and receipts, and in order confirmations and emails, because the law requires trading disclosures to be legible in each of those places. If you ever receive correspondence that appears to come from us but omits these identifiers, treat it with caution and verify it using the contact route set out in section 3 below.
3. Registered Office and Available Contact Details
Our registered office, which is the address at which official documents may be served on the company and which is recorded on the public register, is Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. The registered office may differ from the place at which training is delivered. For all formal notices, legal correspondence and statutory enquiries, use the registered office or the email address below.
You can reach us in the following ways:
- Email: info@nfts.co.uk
- Telephone: 01494 671234
- Postal address: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG
- Online: the contact form on our Contacts page
The quickest route for course enquiries, booking changes, invoices and general questions is the contact form on our Contacts page, which routes your message to the correct team and creates a written record of your request. We aim to respond to messages within two working days. Written notices relating to a contract, a cancellation, a complaint or a legal claim should be sent by email or post using the details above so that a dated record exists.
This website uses a site-wide cookie banner to collect and manage your consent for non-essential cookies and similar technologies, as required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). You can accept, reject or fine-tune your preferences at any time, and you can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. Details of each cookie, its purpose, its provider and its lifetime are set out in our Cookie Policy.
4. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of This Website
This website exists to promote, describe and facilitate enrolment in professional training courses specialising in live production environments. Its scope is deliberately narrow and practical: control room operations, multi-camera production workflows, live broadcasting standards and techniques, real-time video operation, vision mixing and switching, audio and talkback discipline, and the professional management of television and streaming productions from rehearsal through to transmission.
The intended audience includes media professionals who wish to formalise or extend their skills; aspiring broadcasters and production technicians entering the industry; operators moving from single-camera or recorded work into live environments; students of film, television and media studies; corporate communications and in-house video teams; and organisations in sport, events, worship, education and entertainment that run their own live or streamed output.
The website is aimed primarily at users in the United Kingdom, but it is accessible internationally and course content is written in English. Course places may be sold to businesses, public bodies, charities and individual consumers. Where a course is purchased wholly or mainly for the purposes of a trade, business, craft or profession, some consumer protections described in this notice will not apply to that transaction.
Nothing on this website is professional advice for a specific production. Broadcasters and producers remain responsible for their own compliance with Ofcom codes, rights clearances, health and safety law, insurance and contractual obligations to their own clients.
5. Access to and Acceptable Use of the Website
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access this website and to view its pages for your own lawful purposes, including evaluating and purchasing our training. Access is provided on an "as available" basis and is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free.
When using this website you must not:
- copy, scrape, harvest or systematically extract content, course descriptions, pricing or learner data, whether manually or by automated means;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its servers, databases or any connected system, or probe, scan or test its vulnerability;
- introduce viruses, malware, ransomware, or any other harmful code, or interfere with the proper working of the site;
- use the contact form or any other channel to send unsolicited advertising, chain messages, bulk commercial communications or unlawful, defamatory, obscene or discriminatory material;
- impersonate any person, misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation, or submit false booking information;
- record, stream, photograph or redistribute any course, session, exercise or teaching material without our prior written consent;
- use the site or its content to train, fine-tune or otherwise develop automated systems without our written permission.
We may suspend, withdraw or restrict access to all or part of the website, cancel a booking or refuse service where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken, where we are required to do so by law, or where continuing to provide access would expose us, our staff or other learners to risk. Where a booking is cancelled for breach of these rules, no refund will ordinarily be due.
6. Ownership and Permitted Use of Content, Trademarks and Other Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, course outlines, syllabuses, diagrams, control-room schematics, signal-flow charts, checklists, assessments, photographs, graphics, audio and video material, page layouts and the underlying code, is owned by or licensed to mediariffx Limited and is protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, by database rights, and by equivalent laws in other jurisdictions.
The company name, its trading name, and any logos or product names used on the site are trademarks or trade names belonging to us or used under licence. No trademark, service mark, logo or trade name may be used without our prior written permission, and nothing on this website grants you any right or licence in respect of them.
You may:
- view, download and print individual pages for your own private, non-commercial reference and for internal evaluation within your organisation;
- quote short extracts of this legal notice or of descriptive course information in a review, academic work or internal document, provided the source is clearly attributed to us and the quotation is fair and proportionate.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, license, modify, create derivative works from, or make the whole or a substantial part of this website available to third parties, in any medium, without our prior written consent. Course exercises, training decks, templates and reference materials supplied during training are licensed to the individual learner or the purchasing organisation for internal use only; they may not be resold, published, or used to deliver competing training without a written licence from us.
If you believe that content on this website infringes your intellectual property rights, please write to us using the contact route in section 3 with details of the work, the URL concerned, and the basis of your claim. We will investigate promptly and remove or amend material where that is appropriate.
7. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability
We take reasonable care to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date when it is published. Course content, timings, instructor availability, software versions and equipment configurations change over time, and the techniques used in live production evolve quickly. We therefore reserve the right to amend course outlines, sequencing, equipment or instructors, and to correct errors and omissions on the site, at any time and without notice. Where a material change affects a course you have booked, we will inform you and offer an alternative or a refund where appropriate.
The website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties and other terms that might otherwise apply to the website or its content, and we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, complete or free from defects.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. In particular, nothing in this notice limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by sections 49 to 52 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (services to be performed with reasonable care and skill, at a reasonable price, within a reasonable time, and using information that is binding), or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to the paragraph above, and to the extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business opportunity, loss or corruption of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website;
- where you are a business customer, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with a course shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for that course;
- we are not responsible for the accuracy, legality or availability of any third-party website or resource referred to on this site.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of any material you send to us, and for ensuring that your own equipment, software and internet connection are suitable for accessing the site and participating in any online elements of a course.
8. External Links and Third-Party Content
This website may refer or link to third-party websites, platforms, suppliers, venues, standards bodies or publications that we consider useful or relevant. Those references are provided for convenience and information only. They do not constitute an endorsement of the third party, its products, its services or its opinions, and they do not create any partnership, agency or joint venture between us and that third party.
We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, accuracy, terms of use or privacy practices. If you follow a link away from this website, you do so at your own risk and you should read the terms and privacy notice of the destination site before using it. Any dealings you have with a third party are solely between you and that third party.
Where this website includes content supplied by third parties, such as guest descriptions, venue information or embedded media, that content remains the responsibility of its author. We do not verify third-party content for accuracy and we exclude liability for it to the extent permitted by law. If you believe that third-party content on this site is unlawful, misleading or infringing, please contact us and we will review it.
9. Your Information and Cross-References to Our Other Policies
This legal notice is part of a wider set of documents that together govern your use of this website and your relationship with us. You should read them alongside this page, because each of them deals with matters that this notice does not cover in detail.
- Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect (including the details you enter in the contact form or booking process), why we collect it, the lawful bases we rely on under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, together with your right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. It also explains how we handle recordings and images made during training sessions.
- Our Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this site, including the consent banner that appears on your first visit, the difference between strictly necessary and optional cookies, and how you can change or withdraw your preferences at any time in line with PECR.
- Our Terms and Conditions set out the full contractual terms for booking and attending a course, including enrolment, payment, attendance requirements, conduct during training, intellectual property in course materials, and the circumstances in which we may cancel or reschedule a session.
- Our Payment and Refund Policy explains accepted payment methods, deposit and balance arrangements, the cooling-off period that may apply to distance contracts under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, cancellation charges, transfer options, and how refunds are calculated and paid.
Where there is any inconsistency between this legal notice and the Terms and Conditions in relation to a specific booking, the Terms and Conditions prevail for that booking, except that nothing may reduce the statutory rights available to you under United Kingdom consumer law.
10. Consumer Rights, Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Dispute Resolution
Nothing in this notice or in any other document on this website affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other consumer protection legislation that applies to you. Where you are a consumer, you benefit from the information, cancellation and refund rights provided by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 for distance contracts concluded through this website.
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own jurisdiction, and you may rely on any mandatory consumer protections of that jurisdiction.
If you are a business customer, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us first using the contact route in section 3 so that we have the opportunity to resolve the matter directly. We will acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to give a substantive response within 14 calendar days. If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you may wish to seek independent advice. In accordance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015, we inform you that we are not obliged to participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings before a certified ADR provider, and we do not currently commit to doing so. This does not affect your right to take legal action or to contact any relevant regulator or trading standards service.
